Prepare for some serious head banging: Slayer, the gods of thrash metal, have announced a new tour later this year, and are bringing their new album to Glasgow’s O2 Academy this November.

Thrash metal veterans, Slayer, have announced a headline UK tour for later this year and will be stopping in Glasgow’s O2 Academy for one night on the 25th of November 2015.

Following their YouTube announcement that the band will release a new album this year the thrash metal veterans have announced a series of live gigs in November.

Slayer will travel across the UK in November, starting in Newport on the 21st and ending in London’s O2 Brixton Academy on the 30th with one night in Glasgow’s O2 Academy on the 25th.

Since their debut album in 1983, Slayer have released eleven studio albums, two live albums, a box set, six music videos, two extended plays and a cover album. Four of their studio albums have received gold certification in the United States.Slayer have also received five Grammy nominations, winning one in 2007 for the song Eyes of the Insane, and one in 2008 for the song Final Six.

Their new album Repentless will be released on the 11th of November. It is the first album the band have made since the death of founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman in 2013.

The current line-up features original members Tom Araya and Kerry King with Gary Holt on guitar and Paul Bostaph on drums.

The tour features fellow American thrash metal band Anthrax and Norway’s heavy metal six-piece Kvelertak as special guests. So prepare the hair: there will be some serious head banging.
