Scotland’s very own Emma Gillespie, better known as Emma’s Imagination has announced a gig for this summer in Paisley

Emma’s Imagination first came to prominence after winning the Sky1 TV talent contest Must Be the Music in 2010, during which musicians were allowed and encouraged to play their own compositions.  In the initial televised audition phase, as well as the three semi-finals and final, contestants sang in front of the judges who were Jamie Cullum, Dizzee Rascal, and Sharleen Spiteri.  The live finals were held at Wembley Arena with a live audience behind the judges, during which the public voted Emma’s Imagination as their favourite act.

After appearing on the show, her first single, ‘This Day’, was released for sale by download and debuted at no. 10 on the UK Singles Chart and no. 2 on the Indie Chart.  The single also charted on the Irish Singles Chart, where it reached no. 9 and on the Scottish Singles Chart, where it debuted at no. 7.

Following her win on the show, Emma’s Imagination’s second single, ‘Focus’, debuted in the UK at no. 7, her second British Top 10 chart placing.  The single also debuted at no. 1 on the Indie Chart, no. 8 in Ireland and no. 5 in Scotland.

She has since been signed to Gary Barlow’s music label Future Records, and embarked on an exciting tour around the UK, which included one night in Glasgow’s O2 ABC 2 in 2011.
