British rock legends Duran Duran have announced a new album and UK tour for 2015, and will return to Glasgow for one gig in the SSE Hydro Arena in December!
Duran Duran have announced a UK tour in Autumn 2015, and will be stopping for one night in Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena on the 6th of December.
The multi-platinum selling band have also announced a brand new studio album , Paper Gods – due out worldwide on September the 11th 2015. The band teased the album will feature former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante, Kiesza, Mr Hudson, violinist Davidé Rossi and actress Lindsay Lohan!
Formed in Birmingham in 1978, Duran Duran were one of the most successful bands of the 80’s. They have had 17 albums in the UK album charts, plus a whopping 30 top 40 singles in the UK, 14 of which reached within the top 10, and have had 21 singles in the US Billboard Hot 100.
The original line-up of Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor will perform to over 150,000 fans in 11 arena concerts throughout the UK, including one night in Glasgow’s SECC. The tour will see Duran Duran showcasing material from their new record ‘All You Need Is Now’, along with classic hits from across their 30-year career.
Princes of the New Wave, Duran Duran took the 80’s by storm and came to define the easy charm and big haired cool of the decade. Famous as much for their litany of pop hits, from ‘Rio’, ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ and ‘Save A Prayer’ as for their notorious videos, notably, ‘Girls on Film’ – which was banned by the BBC.
Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes plus the three Taylors, John, Andy and Roger are the epitome of 80’s cool. Their last gig in Glasgow was massively popular, and this is the first Duran Duran tour in years.
