The Dixie Chicks have announced UK tour dates for next year, with one night in Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena in May 2016!

The Dixie Chicks have announced that they will tour Europe in spring 2016, and will play one night in Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena on the 3rd of May 2016.

The country superstars will kick off their tour in Amsterdam on the 20th of April, and then head over to UK shores to Birmingham, Manchester, London and finally Glasgow on May 3rd. The run constitutes their first UK tour dates since their Top of the World tour in 2003!

The country trio have been one of the most successful country bands of all time, gaining multi-platinum status not only in North America, but also in Europe and Australia. Two of their albums, Wide Open Spaces and Fly, have reached Diamond Status (given to albums that have sold over 10 million copies), and the group have won 13 Grammy Awards.

Comprised of Martie Maguire, Emily Robison and Natalie Maines, the Dixie Chicks were formed in Texas back in 1989, but it was another 10 years before they become commercially known, thanks to hits ‘There’s Your Trouble’ and ‘Wide Open Spaces’.

Their most recent album, Taking The Long Way, was released back in 2006, reaching the top 10 in the album charts in seven countries, and no. 1 in the US, Canada and Sweden.

The Dixie Chicks haven’t played any tour dates in Europe since 2003 (yep, that time they said something on stage about George Bush, Texas, Iraq and war). This is going to be a popular one, so make sure you get your tickets really soon!
