16th March 2013
Location: The Glad Cafe, Shawlands
On 16th March 2013, world renowned Irish guitarist, producer, songwriter and folk legend Declan Sinnott will perform in Glasgow as part of the city’s Southside Festival.
With a career spanning over 40 years, Declan Sinnott has played guitar and produced music for Irish folk luminaries such as Christy Moore, Mary Black, Sinead Lohan and John Spillane to name but a few. He was a founding member of Horslips and Moving Hearts – two of the most influential trad /electric bands in Ireland, and spent 13 years guiding Mary Black’s career, producing the majority of her music. Since the year 2000 Declan has been guitarist and producer to Christy Moore, who was recently named as Ireland’s greatest living musician in RTÉ’s People of the Year Awards.
Following the release of his critically acclaimed debut album “I love the Noise It Makes” in 2012, Sinnott sets out on a tour of the highlands and York. 5 years in the making, but “worth the wait” (Acoustic Magazine), the exquisite melodies of Sinnott grab and captivate the listener. Sinnott’s music, the type that transports through a sometimes hauntingly real, often desperately hopeful journey, takes on a new dimension when performed live. Those who see catch Sinnott on this 6 date tour will be marked by an experience that will long be remembered by all who see this folk legend bring his unique brand of magic to Scotland and York, in a series of unforgettable evenings featuring Vickie Keating.
