Trivium are the critically acclaimed Floridian outfit spanning thrash and prog metal. Coming to Glasgow’s O2 Academy on 12th January 2023.

Orlando metallers Trivium set themselves apart by collecting metal’s various ingredients and by-products together into a uniquely potent blend of equal parts alchemy and technical wizardry. Like a conquering horde. The band first conquered their central Florida homeland. Then set out to take over North America, Europe and the world.

Formed in 1999 around frontman Matt Heafy, the band quickly established a word of mouth reputation around Orlando’s metal community. A well-received debut, 2003’s Ember To Inferno, gained the attention of renowned Roadrunner Records. Who signed the band for their second record, 2005’s Ascendancy. A 2006 European jaunt took in Download festival as well as the travelling Sounds Of The Underground festival. Alongside other metal luminaries such as GWAR and Cannibal Corpse.

The band’s third album, The Crusade, arrived later in 2006 and proved somewhat divisive among fans, some of who saw it as too blatant a bid for commercial success. The album was still well reviewed, even if the band themselves bristled at the comparisons to giants like Metallica. The result was 2008’s Shogun, a spectacular return to uncompromisingly aggressive form.

Trivium’s standing continued to grow with ensuing albums In Waves (2011) and Vengeance Falls (2013), the latter bringing the band’s highest chart positions to date. Their seventh album Silence In The Snow (2015) saw them make the leap to headliner status, while The Sin And The Sentence arrived two years later and took them to No.23 in the Billboard Top 200 albums.

In April 2020, the band released their ninth album What The Dead Men Say.
