This July, Tontine Lane will be transformed into an animated environment with a bar, street food and art installations as part of Glasgow’s Merchant City Festival.

Behind well-trodden trails lies Tontine Lane.

Usually hidden within plain sight in the beating heart of the Merchant City, this unique and normally secret space shall open its gates to host a series of extraordinary interventions this summer.

From the 16th of July until the 2nd of August, Tontine Lane will be transformed into an animated environment, offering the Heverlee Belgian Beer Cafe Bar, the very best in Scottish street food and pop up dining, art installations and cinematic projection.

Music, specialty stalls, and cultural performance will all enhance this singularly urban environment, with Turner Prize winner Douglas Gordon’s ‘Empire’ sign being just one of the iconic neon artworks located in Tontine Lane to be re-illuminated during the event.

Follow Tontine Lane on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to find out more.

The lane will be open noon – late. Access Tontine Lane via Trongate & Bell Street.
