The Organic Food Festival

The Organic Food Festival

20th & 21st September 2008

Glasgow’s Organic Food Festival is back for it’s third year running.

On the 20th and 21st September, the Old Fruitmarket and Ranshorm Theatre in the Merchant City area of Glasgow will play host to the Soil Association Scotlands Organic Food Festival, 2008.  The Merchant City will be transformed into a marketplace full of organic and wild harvested food, drink, textiles, health and beauty products and ethical homeware.

The festival programme also includes cookery demonstrations, tutored tastings, competitions, debates and talks among other organic things.

A number of restaurants in the Merchant City area have promotions in connection with the Organic Food Festival.  Some are offering 10-20% off for customers with a 2008 Organic Food Festival programme.  These include Art De Caf, JT Rochead, The 78 and The Striped Bass.

A full list of exhibitors is available here, and a full list of what’s on is available here.

For more information about the festival, visit the Soil Association Scotland website.  Entry is free to the market.  Some special events may charge for entry.  Opening times are as follows:

Saturday 20th: 10am – 6pm
Sunday 21st: 10am – 5pm
