The Muppet Christmas Carol Live in Concert is a screening of the festive film with a live orchestra. Coming to Glasgow’s SEC Armadillo on 26th November 2023.

When The Muppet Christmas Carol premiered in 1992, it instantly became a family favourite. The Disney movie closely followed the treasured Charles Dickens’ novel A Christmas Carol. With many of the characters performed by the Muppets.

Kermit The Frog played Bob Crachit. While Miss Piggy appeared as his wife Emily and Kermit’s nephew Robin The Frog was Tiny Tim. The Great Gonzo provided the narrator’s voice with assistance from Rizzo The Rat. Plus, Fozzie The Bear had the role of Fozziwig (aka, Mr Fezziwig from the original story).

Among the human cast members, none other than British acting great Michael Caine took the lead as miserly Ebenezer Scrooge.

The Muppet Christmas Carol was the first film to be produced following the death of legendary creator Jim Henson. The fourth movie in the Muppets franchise, it was the first to be directed by his son Brian Henson.

Shot as a musical, the original score for The Muppet Christmas Carol was composed by Miles Goodman, who also did such films as Dirty Rotten ScoundrelsLittle Shop of Horrors and What About Bob? The songs were written by Oscar, Grammy and Emmy award winner Paul Williams, who’s best known for Kermit The Frog’s Rainbow Connection. The soundtrack album peaked at No.189 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In June 2022, a UK tour of The Muppet Christmas Carol In Concert was announced for November and December 2022. The festive experience features the film shown in high-definition on a big screen while a full symphony orchestra performs the score. A heartwarming part of any Christmas season, it promises to take attendees of all ages on a magical journey through time.
