Celebrating 40 years

To celebrate ABBA s 40th anniversary, a new “Thank You for the Music” show took to the road in 2010, taking in the UK s top live music venues.

The UK s favourite touring concert show, ABBA meet the Bee Gees in Thank You for the Music which stars:

  • ABBA Magic – performing million-sellers including Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, Waterloo and Winner Takes it All
  • Bee Gees Magic – performing number one hits like Stayin  Alive, Massachusetts, Night Fever, How Deep is Your Love and million-sellers penned by the Bee Gees for other artists including Islands in the Stream, Heartbreaker and Chain Reaction.

Original ABBA members Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida), Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Faltskog first came together in 1970. After winning the Eurovision Song Contest with the single Waterloo in 1973, the quartet went on to record 19 top 20 hits, topping the charts on no less than nine occasions.

“Few bands can claim to have made as big an impact on British pop music history” says Martin Spooner, who plays Bjorn in the show.

Their million-selling hits such as Dancing Queen; Super Trouper, Knowing Me, Knowing You; The Name of the Game; Mamma Mia and Take a Chance on Me are eternal.  ABBA’s music is as popular today as it was in their seventies and eighties heyday.

“Thank You For The Music” continues this incredible legacy.  Laying testament to this is a box office record-breaking movie, the smash-hit West End stage show, chart-topping albums and singles plus the UK s number one concert show: Thank You for the Music!

The cast of Thank You for the Music has been performing Abba’s hits longer than the original members of Abba (Bjorn, Agnetha, Benny and Frida) did in the Seventies and early Eighties.
