Spector, the suave indie quintet with a nod to the new romantics are back! Coming to Glasgow’s Oran Mor for one night only on 31st March 2022.

Former Les Incompétents and Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man frontman Fred Macpherson formed Spector in 2011. Drawing inspriation from 00s indie rockers The Killers and The Strokes. As well as new romantics such as Spandau Ballet and Roxy Music.

Spector played their first gigs at Efes Snooker Club in Dalston. They landed a spot at Reading & Leeds on the BBC Introducing stage. Quickly developing a loyal following, they were signed to Fiction Records and nominated for BBC’s Sound Of 2012 competition.

Following singles Chevy Thunder and Celestine, the band released their 2012 debut album Enjoy It While It Lasts. It peaked at No.12 on the UK albums chart. That year also saw them return to Reading & Leeds, along with a Coachella slot. Not only that but they had an extensive UK tour, both as headliners and as support for Florence + The Machine.

Recorded in London and New York, Spector’s sophomore album Moth Boys arrived in 2015 and saw the group incorporate synths and electronic textures into their sophisticated indie rock.

They released two singles in 2017 – Untitled In D and Fine Not Fine – followed by the EPs Ex-Directory and Reloaded in 2018. The next year, Spector unveiled the tracks I Won’t Wait, Half Life and Simplicity, which were joined by When Did We Get So Normal? to form their 2020 four-track EP called Extended Play.

In June 2021, Spector announced their third album Now Or Whenever, set for release on 1 October 2021, and confirmed a tour to support it, crossing the UK and Ireland before heading to Europe throughout November 2021.
