One of snooker’s biggest tournaments, the 2009 Snooker Grand Prix, returns to Glasgow on the 3rd of October, 2009.

Scottish snooker ace John Higgins will be defending his title when one of the sport’s biggest tournaments returns to Glasgow this October.

The world ranking event runs from October 3 to 11 at Kelvin Hall and will attract the best players from across the globe.

The top 16 players in the world are seeded through to the venue, to be joined by 16 qualifiers.

Amongst those looking to take the trophy home are snooker legend Stephen Hendry, Ronnie ‘The Rocket’ O’Sullivan, local favourite Stephen Maguire and rising stars Shaun Murphy, Mark Selby and Neil Robertson.

But Wizard of Wishaw Higgins will be the man to beat, having beaten Ryan Day in last years final before going on to win his third World title at the Crucible.
