Snarky Puppy are the Grammy Award-winning jazz fusion ensemble who have announced four UK tour dates for October 2022. Coming to Glasgow’s O2 Academy for one night only on the 4th October 2022.

Snarky Puppy are returning to the UK in October. Bringing their ineffable fusion of jazz, funk, rock and world music to Glasgow, Bristol, Manchester and London. The news arrives in the afterglow of their 2021 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album with Live At The Royal Albert Hall. The award sits proudly next to two previous Grammy wins in the same category. As well as another for Best R&B Performance, and a whole host of other accolades.

The outfit formed in Texas in the early 00s by bassist and bandleader Michael League. Since he’s been backed by around 40 world-class musicians known as ‘The Fam’ (a far warmer and familiar title than ‘collective’, which many critics opted to call them in their early days). Since their live debut LP and successive releases such as The Only Constant (2006). As well as The World Is Getting Smaller (2007) and Bring Us The Bright (2008). Snarky Puppy have become as popular as they are prolific. A true highpoint of their career so far is surely their sold-out performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2019.

As far as their cosmic, mind-melting sound that few can define goes, the band prefer to borrow the words of the New York Times‘ Nate Chinen: “Take them for what they are, rather than judge them for what they’re not.”
