Double classical BRIT award winner and the UK’s best-selling classical artist Russell Watson is back in Glasgow in March 2014 as part of a massive UK tour.

With two Double Platinum, one Platinum and two Gold classified albums, plus over seven million records sold worldwide, Russell Watson has come a long way since his time singing in bars and clubs in the Manchester and London suburbs.

Nicknamed ‘The People’s Tenor’ because he likes to chat with and get feedback from his fans, Russell Watson released his first album ‘The Voice’ in April of 2001.  Four others followed this before Watson’s music career was put on hold due a pituitary tumour in his brain bleeding into his brain in 2007.

Russell would bounce back from this set back and once again returned to music releasing his first album after surgery, ‘La Voce’ in June 2010 with the Roma Sinfonietta; Ennio Morricone’s orchestra of choice. Returning with a stronger, more driven and powerful voice, his renditions of Pino Donaggio’s Io Che Non Vivo (Senza Te), Mario Lanza’s Arrivederci Roma and Parla Piu Piano (the theme from The Godfather) are nothing less than astounding.

This new tour will run after the eagerly awaited new album ‘Only One Man’ which will be released in November 2013. The album and tour features brand new songs, some written specially for Russell Watson, by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, the phenomenally successful writers of ‘Les Misérables’ and ‘Miss Saigon’.
