Jack Whitehall is back with his new arena tour – Settle Down. Coming to Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 19th June 2023.

International comedy superstar Jack Whitehall is back with his highly anticipated new live show. Following three complete sell-out arena tours Jack is eager to get back on the road doing what he does best – delighting audiences!

On his new tour Settle Down, Jack says: “This is my most personal show yet, with plenty of material about the big changes that have happened in my life. It’s about my struggle to settle down gracefully. I’ve got a long-term partner, a ridiculous dog and am now hurtling towards middle aged without a clue. It’s about a foppish man-child’s crack handed attempt at adulting!”

With his father Michael being an agent/producer and his mother Hilary an actress, it was only natural Londoner Jack Whitehall would become an entertainer. A child actor himself in various television dramas, he gravitated toward comedy shortly after leaving school.

In 2007, Whitehall was a finalist in the So You Think You’re Funny stand-up talent hunt and nominated for best newcomer at the Chortle Awards the following year. He performed Nearly Rebellious, his first solo show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in 2009. Over the next two years, Whitehall appeared on panel shows like 8 Out Of 10 CatsWould I Lie To You? and Mock The Week as well as made an acclaimed performance on Live At The Apollo.

In 2012, he snagged the first of many British Comedy Awards for King of Comedy. Whitehall also has three huge arena tours under his belt – 2014’s Jack Whitehall: Gets Around, 2017’s Jack Whitehall: At Large and 2019’s Jack Whitehall: Stood Up.

In addition to stand-up, he has built an impressive acting career. Whitehall actually landed a role in Disney’s blockbuster animated film Frozen in 2013 providing the voice for Gothi, a troll priest. However, after the final edit only about two lines of his dialogue remained.

He went on score the role of Zack in the star-studded, big-hearted comedy Mother’s Day in 2016, plus appeared opposite Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman in Lasse Hallström’s The Nutcracker And The Four Realms in 2018. In 2021, Whitehall starred in Disney’s Jungle Cruise alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.

His television credits are numerous and wide-ranging too. Best known for starring as JP in Fresh Meat and Alfie Wickers in Bad Education (which he co-wrote), Whitehall has also had parts in Decline & Fall, Thunderbirds Are Go, Bounty Hunters and Good Omens.

What’s more, he has been utilising his sharp wit and edgy humour as host of the BRIT Awards since 2018, and has presented The Fashion Awards and BAFTA Britannia Awards.

Many people have also enjoyed seeing Whitehall on screen with his father. In the early ’10s, they did a chat show together called Backchat. Since 2017, the twosome have been in Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father during which they tour foreign lands, encountering awkward situations and clashing over what to see.
