Scottish singer-songwriter Eddi Reader known both for her work with Fairground Attraction and for an enduring solo career has announced a gig in Glasgow’s O2 ABC in April 2014.

Born and raised in Glasgow Eddi, she began playing the guitar at the age of ten, and started her musical career busking, first in Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street, then in the early 1980s in London and around Europe. After a few years as a backing to singers to some of the 80s biggest artists, she found huge (albeit fairly short lived) mainstream success with Fairground Attraction.

The band’s first album went platinum and reached number 2 in the UK charts and their single “perfect” went one better and gaining the top spot on the UK Singles Chart in April 1988. It would be the bands only number 1 single, band politics meant they released just one more (half finished) album and then Fairground Attraction was over by 1990.

After that Eddi Reader launched her very successful solo music & Tv career. She is the recipient of three BRIT Awards and has topped both the album and singles charts in the UK.  Reader now has 10 solo studio albums behind her, including the beautiful ‘The Songs of Robert Burns’, in which she showcased the works of Scotland’s national poet.

With a fantastic back catalogue, and an abundance of wonderful songs, this is a night not to be missed!
