Easter events at Glasgow Science Centre

If you’re looking for something to do with the kids this weekend, there’s loads on at the Glasgow Science Centre in their Easter Egg-Stravaganza.

Bunnyland is absolutely brilliant for kids under 7 years (and everyone else too).  Bunnyland is set in a big room in the Science Centre where the kids get to hunt for Easter eggs, create an Easter hat or an Easter mask and there are also other workshops they can join in.  I was there last year, and there were all sorts of springtime delights for the kids to cuddle or pat, like the cutest baby bunnies, gorgeous little chicks and lovely wee lambs!  Both kids I had with me had an amazing time, and I’m going to be back with them this weekend as there is more of the same this year!  What makes it even better is that it’s free to get into if you buy a ticket for the rest of the Science Mall where you could probably spend an entire day anyway!  Ticket prices are £7.95/£5.95 for adults/children & concessions.

One tip if you’re going this weekend – there is a workshop on in the centre called Egg Drop Challenge.  This is where you work in a team against other families/teams to build a case for an egg, and then drop the egg (in it’s case) off a balcony.   The winner is the team who’s egg survives the fall.  The kids will absolutely love it – it’s the best workshop they have!  Spaces fill up really quickly because it’s so popular though – so sign up as soon as you get into the Mall.  (Again it’s free with Science Mall entry).

The Glasgow Science Tower is also apparently open this weekend (depending on wind speeds though – if it’s too windy they don’t let you up since the lifts are on the outside of the building).  I’d advise calling ahead if you just want to go for the Tower to see if it’s opened as the Glasgow weather can be a teeny wee bit temperamental…
