Britain’s Got Bhangra will return to stages around the UK for a revival tour this autumn, with a stint in Glasgow’s King’s Theatre this September.
An exciting new production of the five-star hit Bhangra musical charting the rise of British Bhangra from the sequin clad 80’s through to the RnB fusion of today’s charts, Britain’s Got Bhangra will be playing in Glasgow’s King’s Theatre from the 21st until the 26th of September 2015.
Set in Southall, the story follows Twinkle, a farmer’s son from Punjab, India who comes to England to make a better living for himself and his wife. A gifted singer, he goes from being a van driver to a star in the growing Bhangra music scene of the 80’s. This imaginative musical takes us through his personal journey of highs and lows amidst multicultural Britain and across the evolution of the music scene.
Winner of the ‘People’s favourite musical’ at the Offies 2010 and nominated for Best Musical Production at the TMA awards, the five-star hit Britain’s Got Bhangra is back; remixed, remastered and better than ever.
Britain’s Got Bhangra was originally co-produced by Rifco Arts and Theatre Royal Stratford East in association with Warwick Arts Centre Shake your shoulders, twist that light bulb; this is the story of how Britain’s Got Bhangra!
