Bounce & Rhyme
When: Weekly, throughout the year
Location: Glasgow libraries
*Currently not running*
Bounce & Rhyme is a fun, free activity for babies and toddlers under 3 and their parents in libraries all over Glasgow!
Bounce & Rhyme is a fun activity for parents, carers and children 3 or under with action songs, rhymes and stories that help children’s literacy and numeracy. Sessions are completely free, and they’re on in many of Glasgow’s libraries on a weekly basis.
Bounce and Rhyme provides a fun opportunity for parents, carers and children to sing, read, play and talk together. And if you can’t quite remember the words to the songs you’re trying to sing, Bounce & Rhyme is a great way for parents and carers to brush up on their nursery rhymes!
It also helps to improve literacy and numeracy skills in their pre-school and school years! As you read, sing and repeat rhymes and share stories with your children you are not only having fun but your are helping your child to increase their vocabulary and develop skills and knowledge which can improve speech, language and communication skills.
Bounce and Rhyme sessions are held regularly in libraries throughout Glasgow. Most are on weekly, but not all sessions are on during school holidays or public holidays.

Is this back up and running? I have been advised that Gorbals Library do one on Thursdays. Thanks
Hi Tina
Unfortunately we are not aware of this being back up and running yet. We believe what you are referring to is Bookbug. Bookbug sessions are free, fun and friendly sessions for babies, toddlers, children under 5 and their parents/carers. This runs at Gorbals Library every Thursday from 2-2.30pm. Why not check out our Bookbug page which shows you all the libraries which run the sessions. I hope this helps.
Is there any news on bounce and rhyme classes starting back?
Hi Kirsty
Unfortunately there is still no news on when Bounce and Rhyme will start back.
Any idea when Bounce & Rhyme will be back again??? Babies and carers need a place to gather and feel supported.
Hi Helen
Unfortunately we have no idea when this service will be back again. We would love to see it return soon as it was a huge asset to the Glasgow community, and we know it is really missed. Sorry we cannot be of more help.
Reality dissapointed after turning up for these only to find out they are not running as shown. Wouldn’t take much to update your website GL.
Hi Cheryl
Sorry you have been confused by the post. Our post was labelled as an expired event. We are choosing to leave it on the site in the hope that it will be running soon. I have edited the post to make things a little clearer. We are sorry for the confusion.
