Beartooth

Beartooth the hardcore metal outfit formed around Attack Attack! frontman Caleb Shomo. They are back with their latest tour! Coming to Glasgow’s Barrowland on the 14th March 2023.

Beartooth came into being during a lull in activity for Ohio-based Christian screamcore outfit Attack Attack! That band’s keyboardist-turned-vocalist Caleb Shomo had been writing songs with no real designs on turning it into an official project. However, once Attack Attack! called it a day in 2013, Beartooth began to seem an increasingly viable proposition, leading Shomo to recruit a proper band for live performances.

Their debut EP Sick was released in 2013, with Shomo playing all the instruments. He repeated this feat for the band’s debut album Disgusting, released the following year on Red Bull Records. Beartooth followed the album’s release with extensive touring, including a spot on the Warped Tour, alongside Don Broco and We Are The In Crowd on the Kerrang! Tour and at both Slam Dunk and Download.

Following appearances at Reading and Leeds and as support to Slipknot around North America, Shomo returned to the studio for Beartooth’s second album. Released in June 2016, Aggressive again featured Shomo playing the bulk of the instruments and reached number 25 on the Billboard 200.

Disease, the band’s fourth album, was released in 2018. While Shomo continued to be the main contributor to all areas of its creation, it marked the first time that he had recorded a Beartooth album in proper studios. Shomo also embarked on travels across America and to Tokyo to inject a broader worldview into his songwriting.  

In 2021, Shomo teased details of a new Beartooth album via his Instagram account. This was followed with details of three Beartooth UK tour dates in February 2022 in Birmingham, Manchester and Brixton.
