Great Women’s 10k
When: 5th June 2016
Location: Bellahouston Park
Join your fellow femmes for this year’s Glasgow Great Women’s 10k; back on June 5th 2016!
Each year, Glasgow plays host to one of the largest and best women’s 10k running events in the United Kingdom: The Glasgow Great Women’s 10k, on the 5th June 2016.
This year, the road race will take place on Sunday the 5th of June in the South Side of Glasgow.
Why not join your fellow femmes to raise money for a charity of your choice this year?
This year there will be over 8,000 women of all ages and experience taking on this fantastic 10k course which will see the runners pass through two of Glasgow most famous parks, Pollock Country Park and Bellahouston Park.
There will also be route entertainment with drummers and pipers along the way to keep you uplifted with some motivating sounds! Throughout the course, runners spirits will be boosted by the ‘Bands on the Run’ and charity cheering points.
Race Route
The course starts on Nithsdale Road with the early stages of the run heading through leafy Pollokshields. The wide roads through the first 3km of the course provide plenty of space for running and a great opportunity for spectators to show their support.
At around 6km you will meet the only hill, and although it is a little testing — fear not – you’re over half way!
After Pollok Park, the icing on the cake is the fantastic finish on Mosspark Boulevard where runners, joggers and walkers will be cheered on by hundreds of supporters along the final straight.

This is my 3rd year walking/running the womans 10k and it is a fantastic experience. I ran with my sister-in-law and friend last year, and sadly my sister-in-law has been diagnoised with Bowel Cancer so I am running for her and bowel cancer this year. so I am running to raise as much money as I possibly can for this awful disease.
