Sunday 13th May 2012
Location: Bellahouston Park
Entry: £20
Each year, Glasgow plays host to one of the largest and best women’s running events in the United Kingdom: the Ignis Asset Management Women’s 10k.
This year, the road race will take place on Sunday the 13th of May in Bellahouston Park, which is located to the South-West of the city centre. Why not join your fellow females to raise money for a charity of your choice this year?
This year there will be more people at the start line, so to help ease congestion there will be more start pulses than in 2011 and fewer women in each pulse. Meaning more space for you to start your race and set your own pace!
There will also be route entertainment every 500m with pipers at each KM marker, and further entertainment at each 500m point. So come race day you will never be more than 499 metres from some uplifting and motivating sounds!
Race Route
Route map not yet released. Check the Women’s 10k Run website for updates.
How To Enter
You can enter online at the Ignis Asset Management online entry page. The entry cost has been frozen at £20 again this year, so you can enter online for the same price as you paid in 2010! All early-bird entrants have the option of upgrading their race t-shirt to a limited edition lightweight technical race t-shirt for just £5 per race.
Running for a charity?
If you would like to run for charity and don’t already have one in mind, there are more than 50 charities listed on the Women’s 10k Run website for you to choose from. Take a look and see who you’d like to raise money for…
Alzheimer Scotland
In order to fundraise for Alzheimer Scotland please either email the Events Team at events@alzscot.org or call the events line on 0845 260 0789. Even if you’ve already registered and haven’t chosen a charity to support – it’s not too late! You will then be sent out a sponsorship pack as a thank you for running for our cause.
All of the Alzheimer Scotland runners will be provided with a full sponsor pack including sponsorship forms, temporary face tattoo and a free awareness raising t-shirt or lady fit top to wear on the day.

This is my 3rd year walking/running the womans 10k and it is a fantastic experience.
