Location: The Hydro

Vampire Weekend are embarking on an arena tour of the UK in November 2013 and will be heading to the Glasgow Hydro with Noah and the Whale providing support.

Hailing from New York, the band have amassed a significant fan following since the launch of their self-titled debut album in 2008. Their 2010 follow-up Modern Vampires of the City has won widespread critical acclaim thanks to its daring and experimental sound and use of innovative techniques.

The American rockers recently performed at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, with the band currently riding a fresh wave of popularity following the release of their third album Modern Vampires of the City earlier this year.

Noah and the Whale hit it big in the British folk scene with the release of 2008’s Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down, their popular debut that cracked the U.K. Top Ten and spawned the hit single “5 Years Time.” The band also attracted attention by serving as a launching pad for Laura Marling, who left the lineup in 2008 to launch an award-winning solo career. Noah and the Whale forged ahead in her absence, releasing albums that moved away from the band’s folky bedrock while still maintaining a good amount of chart success.
