Jazz master Tony Bennett will perform in Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall for one night only in July 2010.

Raised in New York City, Tony Bennett began singing at an early age and had his first number one popular song with “Because of You” in 1951.

Several top hits such as “Rags to Riches” followed in the early 1950’s, and Bennett then refined his vocal skills to encompass jazz singing.  He reached an artistic peak in the late 1950s with albums such as The Beat of My Heart and Basie Swings, Bennett Sings.

In 1962, Tony Bennett recorded his signature song, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco”.

Having released more than 70 albums throughout his career spanning almost 6 decades, Tony Bennett truly is a master of his trade. The biggest selling of his albums (in the U.S.) have been I Left My Heart in San Francisco, MTV Unplugged: Tony Bennett, and Duets: An American Classic, all of which went platinum for shipping one million copies.
