The Kentucky Headhunters have announced their first ever European tour, including just 3 UK gigs with one in Glasgow’s O2 ABC!
Kentucky Headhunters, the honky-tonk rockers from the bluegrass state, have announced their first ever tour of Europe and will play just 3 gigs in the UK including one night in Glasgow’s O2 ABC on the 27th of July 2016.
Announcing their first ever tour of Europe, the “Heads” have booked gigs at the Sweden Rock Festival this summer. The June 9th date has Queen + Adam Lambert, Foreigner, Twisted Sister, and others. They’ll also be joining the likes of Whitesnake and Black Stone Cherry for the Ramblin’ Man Fair in Maidstone, Kent, on 24th July.
The band have received awards from the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music, and a Grammy, but they’ve yet to take a step on European stage as a touring act. Although the Headhunters perform nearly 100 dates per year across the U.S. and Canada, their conventional way of getting to and from has always been their tour bus. This is apparently due to the band’s rhythm guitarist, Richard Young’s fear of flying; a fear that has kept the band’s feet firmly planted in North America!
But in 2016 they’re jetting off to Europe, to the UK and to Glasgow!
