Thanks for all your comments, and well done to everyone who took part in the 2009 race.

We have passed any suggestions etc. from above onto the Great Scottish Run team, as we at Glasgowvant have nothing to do with the organisation of the event - we just tell people that it's happening!

Thanks again,
The Glasgowvant admin team.

Enjoyed a fine comeback via the 10K after a numder of years absence. Great to see so many younger people taking up the sport...stars of the future. Only gripe was that parts of course were too tight i.e Kingston Bridge which hampered run times. Its freedom of the city for only a few hours so as wide as possible next year. Overall great day outeven with that weather !!!

i had a brilliant time participating in the race my only small gripe would be the lack of distance markers, i only saw a 2k, 5k and 7k marker where i wished there had been a 9k marker so i could sprint in the final km, it was not untill i came round the last corner that i realised the race was nearly over! but over all what a brilliant day and will be signing up again for next year!!

It was a great day! One suggestion would be to try and get the trains to put on normal services as opposed to sunday services on the day. Would save people having to drive.

Great Day and good atmosphere.

Only complaint some more room on bothwell street and the bridge is needed hard to pick up pace in such a tight space, but will be back next year.

Simply Fantastic half marathon! expertly organised,i have done 5 now and this was my 1st time in the Great Scottish Run and i will be back next year...travelled up from Liverpool and well worth the effort! As for the time...its very obvious that they cant have personal stopwatches on display and that is why we have chips!
I did my personal best despite it being soooooo busy with runners and a big well done to all who organised and helped on the day etc.The bag-pipe players throughout the run was a nice touch, even for an englishman! Well Done Glasgow!

Please, please can the organisers do what some of the other large runs do and completely ban the wearing of i-pods and headphones. Racing wheelchairs are simply impossible to stop or even to slow down on downhill sections (especially in the wet). Runners need to be able to hear us shouting so that they know we are coming past them. Collisions are dangerous and can result in people being badly hurt. Nobody wants that to happen.

Great event, just as last year

Here two suggestions for improvement:
Some race stewarts seemed uncertain which way to guide runners. As a consequence I heard one guy crashing into a barrier behind me.

How about a free ticket for public transport as part of your race pack?
