Formed in 1962, English rockers Status Quo are still going strong and are to tour the UK this winter. The group’s origins were in ‘The Spectres’ founded by schoolboys Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster in 1962. After a number of lineup changes, the band became ‘The Status Quo’ in late 1967, finally settling on the name ‘Status Quo’ in 1970.
Characterized by their distinctive brand of boogie rock, The Quo have recorded over 60 chart hits in the UK, more than any other rock group in history. 22 of these have reached the UK Top Ten.
The Quo recently released their thirty third album ‘In Search of the Fourth Chord’. The band have had many popular tracks throughout their long career such as ‘Down Down’, ‘Whatever You Want’ and ‘Ice In the Sun’.
