The opening day of Shindig (Saturday 26th) at George Square will have traditional story telling, children’s activities and ice sculptures and music from The John Carmichael Ceilidh Band and Clanadonie.

In the evening Celtic Connections present free performances! The Jarlath Henderson Trio bring their duelling Scots/Irish pipes and fiddles to the stage at 7pm followed by young Highland hotshots Rura at 8pm.

The family ceilidh will take place on Sunday 27th and is set to be an unmissable Scottish dancing experience.  Don’t worry if you don’t know the moves.  Whether it’s the Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant or Strip the Willow, there will be expert Callers to guide you through the dances. There will also be traditonal children’s activities and storytelling.

Admission is free, so grab your kids and your partner and come along and dance the night away with some of Scotland’s best live ceilidh bands.  You are absolutely guaranteed to have a great time!
