The Glasgow Riverside Rat Race is back, and this year will take place on the 21st of August along the banks of (or maybe even in!) the wonderful Clyde!

This year’s Riverside Rat Race takes place on Sunday the 21st of August and starts at 2pm. It’s open to everyone and costs £35 to enter.

The Glasgow Riverside Rat Raceis a 10km walking or running journey along the banks of the Clyde, interspersed with adventure activities based on, near (or in!) the Clyde. It has been designed by the guys behind the legendary Rat Race Urban Adventure events, partnering with the brand new Riverside Museum and See Glasgow.

The Route

Everyone will complete the same route, stretching into Glasgow city centre and then winding its way back down along the river via a myriad challenges and obstacles back to the Riverside Museum.

Along the route, which you can run or walk and which is fully way-marked, there are a number of activities to complete. They range from physical obstacles which you must tackle, a wee splash of kayaking in our stable fleet of sit-on-top kayaks and some exciting activities that only the Rat Race could have dreamt up! You will also find yourself variously on or even in the river Clyde at certain stages of the event. None of these activities require special skill, but all of them are pretty exciting!

The Requirements

All you need is a sense of adventure and enough fitness to get around the 10km course (you can walk round it; there’s no need to sprint, although you can sprint if you feel that energetic!)

Entry

You can enter online at ratraceadventure.com. Entry is £35.

Entry includes a t-shirt, electronic timing, water stations, music, live MC, food drink and kids activities, and all water safety equipment provided.
