Location:  SECC

Scottish indie rock legends Primal Scream are coming home to Glasgow once again in December 2013 for a gig in the SECC.

Formed by Bobby Gillespie in Glasgow during the mid ’80s, Primal Scream played a key part in the ’80s indie pop scene, but eventually moved away from their original jangly sound, taking on more psychedelic and then garage rock influences, before incorporating a dance music element to their sound.

It wan’t until their 1991 album ‘Screamadelica’, the ultimate indie pop and dance fusion album that the band gained mainstream success.  Their first major hit ‘Loaded’ was taken from this album and reached number 16 in the UK singles chart, which was quickly followed by ‘Come Together’ reaching number 19 in the UK singles chart.

Screamadelica broke down boundaries and changed the face of British pop music in the 1990s, helping to make dance and techno music acceptable to the rock mainstream.

The band’s latest album More Light was released in May 2013 and the band recently played at the Glastonbury Festival 2013 just before the Rolling Stones.
