Muse, the first band to sell out Wembley Stadium, best known for their award winning live performances are back on tour, and will be stopping off in Glasgow’s SECC this November.
The multi-award winners are undoubtedly one of the biggest rock acts in the UK, and with their grandiose piano, impossible guitar riffs, distorted bass lines and front man Bellamy’s trademark almost operatic vocals, they have earned a wealth of dedicated fans.
Muse have released five studio albums: Showbiz (1999); Origin of Symmetry (2001); Absolution (2003); Black Holes and Revelations (2006), which earned the band a Mercury Prize nomination and a third place finish in the NME Albums of the Year list for 2006; and most recently, The Resistance (2009). The current tour is in support of this newest album, which entered the UK album charts at no. 1.
Muse have won a vast number of music awards throughout their career, including five MTV Europe Music Awards, five Q Awards, six NME Awards, two BRIT awards and four Kerrang! Awards. The majority of these awards have been attributed to their live performances.
In 2007 the rockers even became the first band to sell out the new Wembley Stadium. With anthems like ‘Plug in Baby’, ‘Knights of Cydonia’ and ‘Supermassive Black Hole’, and award winning live performances it’s not hard to see why…
