Glee star Matthew Morrison coming to Glasgow this summer as part of his UK tour.
This summer, Matthew will be showcasing tracks from his hotly anticipated self-titled album, plus a number of mash-ups from popular ‘Glee’ songs.
Californian born Matthew Morrison is best known to millions as the eternally optimistic high school teacher and de glee club director, Will Schuester, on the hit comedy series ‘Glee’. The show ranks as the no. 1 entertainment program on broadcast television among Adults 18-34, Teens and Female Teens.
Morrison is no stranger to musical theatre, vocal performance and dance, which he studied at New York University’s renowned Tisch School of the Arts.
Matthew’s first big Broadway break came as heartthrob Link Larkin in the hit ‘Hairspray’. He was later nominated for a Tony Award for his role in ‘The Light in the Piazza’. He received a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for ’10 Million Miles’. Morrison also starred in the Tony Award-winning revival of ‘South Pacific’ at New York’s Lincoln Center Theater.
Matthew has been nominated for Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe awards, and shared the 2009 SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Award for Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical, for ‘Glee’.
Morrison’s upcoming self-titled debut album features duets with the legendary Sir Elton John and Hollywood A-Lister Gwyneth Paltrow. The album was launched following the global success of Glee and Matthew’s role as Glee club leader, Will Schuester.
The first track and single from ‘Matthew Morrison’ is “Summer Rain”, which was co-written by Matthew with Claude Kelly (Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera) and the Norwegian duo known as Espionage, who produced the track in New York City.
This is a definite must-see for all the Gleeks out there!
