Katie Melua has one date in Scotland planned during her upcoming UK winter tour with Gori women’s choir, at The Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow on December 3rd 2016.
Georgian-born Katie Melua is a unique and remarkable singer-songwriter known and loved for singing open-hearted ballads.
Her first album “Call Off the Search” was released in 2003, and quickly reached the top of the UK album charts, selling 1.8 million copies in its first months of release. In 2005 she released her second studio album, “Piece by Piece”, (which contained the hit Nine Million Bicycles) which debuted at number one of the UK album charts, and went 4x platinum.
Both albums were also international number ones, and in 2006, just 3 years after her debut album was released, Katie Melua was the UK’s bestselling female artist, and Europe’s highest selling European female artist. Her most recent album “Ketevan” was released in September 2013, and peaked at number 6 in the UK album charts.
Known for hits such as “The Closest Thing to Crazy” and “What I Miss About You”, Katie Melua comes to Glasgow for her only Scottish date on a very special winter concert series, where she’ll be joined on stage by the 23-piece Gori women’s choir.
