JLS have announced that, due to extraordinary demand, they will be adding an extra date to their hugely popular UK tour this April!!!
The four cuties that are JLS (Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan “JB” Gill, and Oritsé Williams) have not let the disappointment at finishing second in 2008’s X Factor get them down.
JLS have had an absolutely phenomenal few years since they competed in ITV’s X Factor. Their first two singles ‘Beat Again’ and ‘Everybody In Love’ debuted at number 1 in the UK singles charts. Their debut self-titled album was released in November 2009 and stormed to the top of the UK album charts, making it the fastest selling debut by a group since the Arctic Monkeys released theirs in 2006. The album has now sold over a million copies.
As well as the record-breaking sales, JLS have been picking up various awards along the way. In September 2009 they walked away with two MOBOs for ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Best Song for Beat Again.’ And earlier this year, JLS won ‘Best British Single’ for ‘Beat Again’ and ‘Best British Breakthrough Act’ at the Brit Awards in the same year. In 2010 they won the MOBO Awards for ‘Best UK act’ and ‘Best Album’.
Since then they have had a further three UK number one singles with ‘The Club is Alive’, ‘Love You More’ and ‘She Makes Me Wanna’.
JLS’s February 2010 UK tour sold out within 24 hours with multiple dates added due to popular demand for London, Manchester and Glasgow. They would have sold out even quicker had it not been for the booking agents computers crashing due to the epic demand.
JLS’s new arena tour follows their recent number one single ‘She Makes Me Wanna’ and their soon to be released third album due out on 14th November 2011.
Having honed their live act in preparation for their tour, JLS shows will be slick and great fun. Simon won’t be able to complain about this upcoming performance!
