International Highland Cattle Show

20th September 2008

The 2008 International Highland Cattle Show will take place in the City of Glasgow on Saturday the 20th of September.

The Glasgow International Highland Cattle Show is the largest show of these magnificent animals in the UK.  Glasgow City Council is hosting this event for the 5th time, in Pollok Country Park (Europes Best Park 2008).

Cattle breeders from around the UK will descend upon Pollock Country Park with their prized livestock, to be judged by a Mr Jack Ramsey – a well known cattle breeder and respected judge.  Cattle will be judged in 13 categories, including males and females of all ages.

This event is definitely a family event.  Among other things, there will we dog agility displays, live music from pipe and brass bands, countryside activities, falconry displays and craft and food markets.  In addition to this, The Drakes of Hazard will be performing – the world famous sheepdog and duck display team!  To make it that bit better, entry is free!

Gates open at 10am, and judging starts at 11am.

  1. My son and I went along to the Highland cattle show at Pollok park in Sept, we both really enjoyed it, my son is only 20 months and he was amazed with the cattle, there was lots to do and lots to keep him going, he enjoyed the fair ground attractions and i bought him a toy tractor that he still enjoys playing with.
