Hogmanayday!

Hogmanayday!

George Square at the Bells

When: 31st December 2014
Location: George Square

Free

Glasgow’s traditional Hogmanay party in George Square is no longer. Instead, we have fantastic family-friendly events throughout the day on hogmanay.

The new years eve event in 2014 bringing in 2015 will finish at 10pm and feature music and free fun for all the family with kids’ activities including themed crafts and storytelling, highland dancing, ceilidh bands, and traditional Scottish food, drink and entertainment. The aim is to create a family day in George Square rather than a one-off party.

If you are looking for an outside street party to bring in the new year, there is one happening in Ashton lane. Might be more of what you are looking for.

2015 promises to be a great year for Glasgow, so bring it in in style with at George Square with a traditional family celebration with the best in Scottish music, food and drink.

Full details of the George Square Hogmanay party will be released in the coming weeks, sign up to our newsletter to stay up to date with the latest news on what’s happening in Glasgow.

Hotels near George Square

If you aren’t from Glasgow and you are planning on being around for the celebrations at George Square this new years eve or as we say in Glasgow Hogmanay. Then you’ll probably need a hotel, a smart idea would be to book a hotel in the city centre, or even better, a hotel on George Square.

We have been trying to guess at work, a couple of the lads have suggested Franz Ferdinand or Travis.

Cant wait so looking forward to it, need to look out the winter woolies though!!!

  6. Surely if it’s a Scottish super band headlining it’s most likely – Franz Ferdinand, Travis or Texas (if still together)?

  11. Is it normally a Scottish Band or Person who is the top lineup? Ive never been to George Square before, but got my tickets this morning.

Cant wait, booked into the Premier Inn on the Square – got a great deal!!!!

  12. The organisers are keeping this year’s headliners top secret and will announce it the end of the month. All we can say is that the headline act are a super-band with multiple top ten albums and singles under their belts!

Confirmed for Glasgow’s Hogmanay 2009 is Tommy Reilly fresh from releasing his debut album ‘Words on the Floor’. After winning the UK-wide Orange Unsigned Act competition last year.

  13. Is it possible you could give us a clue on who the line up is…? i just dnt want to buy the ticket and then not like the line up! Pleeeaaaaaaaaseeeee

    xxxx

  14. i do agree with power puff the council should get a grip and bring price down the party in edinburgh is £10 and headliners seem to be better come on council get a grip at least give a fee drink voucher with tickets or food voucher would be a nice gesture

p.s who are headliners this year ???????????

  15. I love George Square at New Year but i think it is awful that we are charged £15.00 for a ticket? I remember when they were around £5.00 a ticket, this is a lot more reasonable!
It is an excellent night, but the fact that it is so expensive (considering some people take their whole families), kind of puts a dampner on it.

  16. should be a great night me and my wife have been last three years top class staying this year at premire inn g.sq for two days new years day in glasgow not really anything going on peacfull after a night on the swally
