The Glasgow Vet School Rodeo is back for another day of fun with the animals during the Easter holidays!

The 55th Annual RODEO is being hosted by Glasgow University Veterinary Medical Association on Saturday the 18th of April 2015 at the Garscube Estate, Glasgow.

A day of animal-based fun including stalls from the vet school and charities, pony rides, small and exotic animal tents, ferret racing, falconry, duck herding, a husky demo and much more.

The event is organized by vet students to raise money for animal welfare-related organizations and is the University of Glasgow’s largest charity event! This year we’ve chosen to donate to: Dogs Trust, Cats Protection, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, Students for Animals In Need (SAIN), The Trusty Paws Clinic, The Vet Fund, Willows Animal Sanctuary & Animal Assisted Therapy Unit, and Riding for the Disabled Association Glasgow Group.

GUVMA’s Rodeo aims to provide a day of fun and entertainment for the entire family, while supporting charitable causes.

The event provides an opportunity for commercial businesses, local companies, and charities to interact and communicate with a wide audience comprising of students and families from the local area and beyond.

This previous year’s Rodeo raised over £16000 for charity, and our committee is working hard to ensure another successful Rodeo!

  1. Am I the only person who finds it somewhat ironic that any department of Glasgow University should hold such an event to raise money for animal charities. When Glasgow uni routinely uses animals for experimentation. Appalling hypocrisy!!!
