Glasgow River Festival

Glasgow River Festival

25th July 2009 & 26th July 2009

Admission:  Free

Location:  On the Clyde, in and around the SECC, the Glasgow Science Centre and the Tall Ship ‘Glenlee’

The annual Glasgow River Festival returns again this year with a huge array of activities on and around the Clyde.

The Festival on the Clyde takes place every year on the Glasgow Fair holiday weekend, on and around the River Clyde.  Activities and events are present on both sides of the Clyde: the Glasgow Science Centre presents some great fun presentations and activities for kids on the south bank of the river, whilst many events take place around the Tall Ship ‘Glenlee’ and the SECC on the north side.

Every year, a huge bunch of boats and ships descend onto this area of the Clyde and open up their doors to the public.  You can go onto old historic shipping vessels, Royal Navy and Royal Marines ships, and yaghts among other sea-going vessels, or you can stay on dry land and see the vintage fire engines instead.

The full programme of events is now finalised and available on the Glasgow River Festival website.  Things not to miss include the annua Duck Race, the pirate ships Zebu & Vilma, and the world-class jet ski riders.

Bring the family and celebrate the past, present and future of Glasgow’s historic waterfront.  Whatever your age, there’s great entertainment and fun in this packed programme – and best of all – it’s all free.

Get the dates in your diary as this festival is a definite must!
