Club Noir: Valentine’s Venetian Masked Ball

13th February 2010

Location:  O2 Academy, 121 Eglinton Street, Glasgow

Tickets:  £15.50

As Venice unleashes its Carnivale in February, Club Noir brings its very own taste of this world-famous festival from Italy to Scotland with a lavish Valentine’s Venetian Masked Ball this February at Glasgow’s O2 Academy.

This Valentine’s Day, two sumptuous burlesque shows convey the romance of this festival, and the essence of Venice and Italy.

Performances include:  Gondolier – Italian Carlo Bosticco serenades; ‘Red Rose’ by Millicent Binks – this London beauty recently shared the bill at Dita Von Teese’s famous Paris show; Italian Opera – a trio of charismatic male singers from Scottish Opera; Colette Neil – the Diva with the enormous voice; Shadows – Luke Amour, coryphée ballet dancer; Masked Revelry – a sparkling pink 18th century fan dance by Salome; Striptease – but not as you’d expect, by Crimson Curves.

Expect masks, costumes, laughter, crowds, stiltwalkers, fire, jugglers, clowns and of course, vino at this vibrant hot-blooded fiesta that is Carnevale Venezia.

In addition to all this, there will be live Music from Modus, a champagne bar (serving Bellini cocktails of course!), and a chill-out Bar with screenings of Italian films.  Plus, DJs Tony Blow and DJ Loveless will be playing Italian, vintage and modern sounds.

Doors: 9pm (curfew: 3am)

Dress code: Dress up. As the Venetians say Look how little you need!  A mask will transform anything you wear, and transform you…  No jeans or trainers. No tacky fancy dress.  Management reserve the right to refuse admission.

18+ only
