Looking for the 2009 Glasgow International Jazz Festival?
The Glasgow International Jazz Festival will take place on Friday the 20th June until Sunday 29th June 2008 in more than 13 different venues across the city. This years festival has a brilliant line-up, and includes the likes of Buddy Guy, Lee Konitz, Ian Shaw and Dennis Rollins.
The opening of the Jazz Festival is a Mardi Gras party which will start at George Square, go through Merchant City and down to the Canderiggs. It sounds like it’ll be fun. Other larger events include the ‘Riverboat Shuffle’, a jazz cruise on the Waverley (the UK’s oldest paddlesteamer), jazz events at Loch Lomond Shores, Polar Bear, late night jam sessions in the City Café and The Swingcats (who I happened to see last year and who were absolutely brilliant).
More information on locations of venues and times of gigs can be found at the Jazz Festival website.
