George Michael, one of the worlds best-selling music artists of all time, has confirmed 2 nights in Glasgow’s SECC this September.

George Michael is back in good health after a battle with pneumonia at the end of last year, which unfortunately led to his ‘Symphonica’ tour being postponed.  He is now preparing to return to the big stage this Autumn with rescheduled and newly added tour dates.  Concert promoters have confirmed that original tickets will be valid for the rescheduled dates (above).

Kicking off his ‘Symphonica’ Tour in Vienna (a newly added date to the tour), George Michael will be donating 1000 tickets to the Viennese medical staff who saved his life.

George Michael is an English musician, singer-songwriter and record producer who rose to fame in the 1980’s when he formed the pop duo Wham!  He released his first solo single, “Careless Whisper” in 1984, when he was still in Wham! and sold about six million copies worldwide.

As one of the world’s best-selling pop music artists, Michael has sold over 100 million albums worldwide.  His 1987 debut solo album, ‘Faith’, sold over 25 million copies worldwide.  In 1987 & 88, 6 singles were released from the album ‘Faith’.  All of them obtained a place in the top 20 of the UK singles charts (2 went straight to no. 1) and in the US, all went to within the top 5 in the Billboard Hot 100.

Michael has managed to get himself 7 no. 1 singles in the UK, and 8 no. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.  In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked Michael the 40th most successful artist on the “The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists”.

He has won several music awards throughout his 30 year career, including three Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, four Ivor Novello Awards, and two Grammy’s.

In 2006, George Michael announced his first tour in 15 years.  The ’25 Live’ tour was a massive, worldwide undertaking by Michael that spanned three individual tours over the course of three years (2006, 2007, and 2008).
