Family picnics at Crookston Castle

Crookston-Castle-Glasgow21st June & 5th July 2009

Admission:  Free

Location:  Crookston Castle, Off Brockburn Road, Glasgow, G53

Bring your own picnic along to Crookston Castle on Sunday 21st June, and Sunday 5th July 2009, and you’ll find a bit of magic too.

The free entertainment is provided by magic man Ian Mulholland and local storyteller John Goodall.  The show is on from 1.00 to 4.00, and the local team is backed up by Chris Brown, (an expert on medieval warfare and Stewart history) and a guest storyteller.

There’s plenty of picnic room around the castle, which has one of the finest parklands in Glasgow.

The only thing that’s missing is the view:  The ladder at the top of Crookston’s massive 15th century tower is undergoing repair.  But you’ll still have plenty to explore at Glasgow’s community castle.

  1. Fun and excitement is the name of the game when you go on picnics. In this economy, people are always looking to save money on family activities. Picnics are great way to have a staycation.. Whats so great about a picnic is that children typically like them just as much as adults. Dont for get to bring your picnic baskets and have fun.
