I recently dined at the classy new The Grill on the Corner, formerly Est Est Est, on Bothwell St in Glasgow. I must admit, I was impressed.
Est Est Est was a favourite of a friend of mine, and every time she got to decide where we went for dinner this was the place. For me, it had gotten a bit old.
However we turned up one evening recently to find that it no longer existed, and instead we wandered into this brand new restaurant. As soon as I walked in I thought my dining experiences with this particular friend were not going to be bland any longer.
The décor is very chic and sexy, the service extremely efficient, and the food sublime. As you walk through the bar and into the restaurant you also get a look into the open kitchen which suggests to me anyway, that the ingredients are garden-fresh.
The menu is heavily comprised of steaks and seafood. But along with other favourites such as fajitas and good old chicken pie, there is something for everyone.
My favourite part of the meal was my starter; I had a garlic rub, which contrary to what it sounds is not a skin treatment. The bread was deliciously warm, and the garlic moist and fresh. The entire meal really was exquisite.
If you are looking for somewhere you can stay all night, this is the place. The attached bar has a drinks menu longer than you can drink your way through in a month.
The prices in this restaurant are towards the higher end of what I would pay for a meal. And the only real complaint I have is that it did feel a teeny tiny bit pretentious. But the food itself makes up for that – almost.
Had a lovely meal with a group of friends. The food was beautiful & service excellent.
This is my favourite restaurant in glasgow the staff are great the food is always good especially the steak.
One of the best resturants in Glasgow. The staff are very nice but the food is amazing! The only downside is that it is a bit expensive for the average diner but the food is not worth missing.
My husband and I had the most fantastic lunch here. The food was just yummy, delicious wine but what really made it for us was the staff – they were so helpful, giving advice on some of the dishes on the menu and really just going out of their way to make sure we had a nice time. Fabulous atmosphere as well, very relaxed. The kind of place you could easily spend all afternoon / evening, chatting over one or two glasses of wine after your meal. Top marks, will definitely be back!
I love this place! Great atmosphere, great food, great service and lovely surroundings. Great for a romantic evening with all the pretty lights on the windows.
Recently dined here with some friends on a Friday evening, place was full. I would say the food was fine, rather than fine dining. Service and staff were both excellent, extremely knowledgeable and professional. Now for the but…..I wasn’t impressed by the beer menu in the bar, prior to getting our table, felt the choice was limited, However did discover a nice shiraz for just over £17. Starters were lukewarm, some had sold out, It was 8pm, mains (steak) were fine, few teething problems with the sides but other than that, it was fine…overall, I would return, decor is nice, however, not so sure on the dance music being piped into the restaurant.
