A lovely restaurant set within an old church. The atmosphere was comfortable and the decor of the place lovely.
I went in for a lunch time deal which was £6.95 for a main meal and a glass of wine. The food itself was excellent. I went for the Pork Loin with apple compot and Haggis Mash, my friend had a lovely piece of fish with grilled vegetables.
Really tasty, fresh and well cooked. My meat was lovely and the mash light, no lumps!
I would recommend this for anyone looking to get a cheap lunch but a really high quality dining experience with it. Lovely setting and excellent food. Service staff were friendly and helpful too. Very quiet during the week when I was there which makes for a relaxing experience.
Brilliant restaurant, have been there twice now and would recommend to all. During the week their pre-theatre menu runs until 10 which is unusual and give the option of affordable dining for all. Both visits I ate off the pre theatre menu and was spoilt for choice, with the catch of the catch of the day included on this menu.
On my second visit my vegetarian mother was with me and she usually struggles on a limited menu such as a pre theatre menu but this was not the case. My visits were within a 2 weeks of each other and the menu had changed which is nice.
The complemntary bread was also much appreciated. The atmosphere was pleasant, background music that wasn’t so loud you had to shout and extremely polite and attentive staff and there was no sense of being rushed out the door as there often is if you choose toe at pre theatre. The decor is nice and the seating comfortable. All in all an excellent place to spend an evening.
