Complimenting the reputation of their restaurant in Glasgow, which is one of the most well known and busiest restaurants the centre of Glasgow, La Vita restaurant in Bishopbriggs is well established and one of the most popular restaurants in north Glasgow.
La Vita, Bishopbriggs, *Average price based on a 2 course meal from the a la carte menu for 2 people
Great food and wine selection, great atmosphere for a romantic night out with partner or a night with friends and family! Staff very friendly and very welcoming!
I have been to la vita bishopbriggs a number of times over the years and always thought that the food was ok, slightly over- priced and the customer service always left alot to be desired! I tried to book this restaurant for a family celebration, i wouldn’t have been my first choice but we had to stay local. When I phoned I was told that because there were 8 people I had to pay a £50 deposit!! I said to the ‘manager’ that there were 8 people in my family why would I have to book, it was 5pm at night, its not like the restaurant would be that busy. The manager then told me if I didn’t like it then i could go elsewhere as they didn’t need my business. I have never been to a restaurant that treat their customers with such disrespect especially when you are spending your hard earned money in their restaurant. This was my experience before I even entered the place so I took my £300 and went to eagle lodge bishopbriggs who couldn’t have done enough for us. I will also say that their customer service is just as poor when you are in the restaurant, they practically sit you on the laps of other customers to cram you in to make as much money as possible. The waiters are cheeky and arrogant. I would also advise you not to try the one in Glasgow City Centre either as it is just as bad.
We have used La Vita a number of times over the years since it opened and it has slowly but surely declined in quality of food and service. There is a new manager and his idea of how treat customers borders on Basil Fawlty style. He is rude and arrogant. We booked for a family meal and there were 10 people in total and were told we’d have to pay a £50 deposit , something which we’d never been asked for before for such a booking, the manager harrassed us for the deposit, phoning us several times times over the week looking for it to be paid and threatening to give the table to another party if they paid first, the only reason we persevered with this place was because several of us had gift vouchers to use up or we certainly would have went elsewhere. Once at the restaurant we waited half an hour for them to even take the drinks order, and 45 minutes before they took the food order. We couldn’t believe our ears when the manager made a crude comment about spitting in my brothers food. We have no intention of returning here and will use the restaurants locally who do appear to appreciate your business instead of the “we’re doing you a favour attitude” that comes with dining in La Vita.
where do i start well here we go arrived at la vita 7pm only to be told there were no tables and to come back in 30 mins so popped into the avenue for a quick one
returned to lavita and were given the worst table in the place to which i obviously complained we were reseated in the north east corner by the window perfect.now ive been to this joint too many times to remember and have always enjoyed the overall experience but sadly no more .The waiter was total asshole now to the food i ordered the fillet steak rare at £22.00 not cheap but usually worth every penny i also ordered a pepper sauce .So after a half decent starter pate and mixed olives for two with bread the steak arrives and if there were points awarded for presentation this bad boys getting minus ten .the steak was cooked perfectly well but the idiot had poured the whole of the peppered sauce onto the plate and whats more the sauce was cold so i sent it back with instructions to microwave for 60 seconds the imbecile returned with steak on a different plate and the sauce as cold as it arrived now if like me you like your steak raw then it follows that its not going to have a great deal of heat therefore any sauce accompanying must at the very least be hot not to mention in a sauce boat to be poured at ones desire not slopped onto the plate and your £22 steak floating around in it not to mention the crutton which by now resembled a lump of soggy dough .Sadly we decided not to have dessert the manager offered us a free drink fair enough but it was too little too late for the first time in my life i left no tip.On leaving we noticed the place next door being fitted out as an italian restaurant if the owners of ROMA are reading this you are just about to hit the jackpot lavita service poor food not the best price well over the top presentation a disgrace how hard can it be then to raid this place of its customers
