Popular with shoppers and suits alike, Amarone is part of the DiMaggio group. It does, however, have a more adventurous menu than its family-oriented siblings, serving up a contemporary take on traditional Italian dishes, but still with the hefty portions you might see in DiMaggios of course.
One of the smarter options for affordable city centre dining, Amarone is found right next to Buchanan Street subway, making it a handy and hassle-free pit-stop. Soft lighting and neutral tones encourage an intimate atmosphere, while the restaurant also offers customers a table outside if the day happens be too sunny to spend in a basement.

Staff are always very pleasant. Had the fillet steak on the al a carte menu which was beautifully cooked, exactly as I’d ordered. Set menu is very good value. Would highly recommend.
My meal from Amarone was excellent. Our meal was great value for money, although we booked a special offer through 5pm.com, so our meal cost less than normal menu prices.
We both had starters and mains, which neither of us could finish because, although they were delicious, the portions were absolutely huge.
My only criticism of this restaurant was that the tables were squashed very close together, and the drinks were pretty expensive, but the service was quick and efficient and the atmosphere was lovely. I would definetely recommend.
We have been there as a family lots of time and also with friends and always had a great pizza or pasta!! once we went in a big group with lots of kids and the pizza chef made our kids prepare their own pizza!! kids had lots of fun and gave a break to the adults! a fantastic place for family, for groups or couple! and of course excellent italian food:-)
