The Fun Run

Gather at 10am for the big warm up, get on your marks, get set, and go at 10.30am.  It’s free, and you could hop, jump, walk, skip it… whatever you want – so no excuses!  And for everyone that completes the 5K Fun Run, there is a winner’s medal and goodie bag.

This is the sixth year of the 5K and there is a capacity of 4,000 runners.  This is an event not to be missed so strap on those trainers and make sure you’re there early for the fun warm up at 10am!

This is a great route for everyone to take part, whether you want to walk, jog or run through the streets of Glasgow East End with your friends or family and you can dress up and raise some funds for a charity of your choice then the Glasgow East 5K fun run is perfect for you.  There will be lots of entertainment along the route to cheer everyone on and create a great carnival atmosphere all the way back to Tollcross Park to prepare you for the Big Day OOT.

This year you will be able to register your group as well as your family on line. So if you are in a local youth group, jogging network, sport club then follow the easy instructions when registering to register your group.  Alternatively paper entry forms will be available from local facilities across Glasgow East from late March.

The Big Day OOT!

This year, the Big Day OOT will be bigger than ever.  With a fantastic line up of:

  • live acts,
  • fun sports activities,
  • interesting stalls,
  • local traders and
  • activities for the whole family!

The Big Day Oot starts when the first runner crosses the finishing line.

This year promises to be bigger and better than ever with hilarious street theatre, performances by aerial artists, rousing samba, drumming and pipe bands, drama and dance performances, storytelling in the park’s Hidden Garden, music sessions, sports activities and a pirate themed treasure hunt taking over Tollcross Park.   We also need lots of ship mates to climb aboard our massive pirate ship to help decorate it before the day ends!

With all this fun for the kids, along with free entry, this is a not to be missed event in the East End of Glasgow.  So make sure you mark the 10th of June in your calendar!
