The Davis Cup returns once again to Glasgow in April 2012, bringing top class Tennis to Scotland for the second time this year.

With the over whelming success of the previous three Davis cup ties played at the Braehead Arena in earlier this year and last year, the British team has once again chosen to play their tie in Glasgow.

Current world number 4 Andy Murray is unfortunatly not part of the team, his success in the Miami Masters makes it very difficult for the British number 1 to get back to the UK in enough time to prepare adequatly for the tie.

British Number 2 and 3, James Ward and Dan Evans will be joined by double specialists Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins. That was the team that succesfully beat the Slovakian Davis Cup team in February.

The current captain Leon Smith, born in Glasgow is still undefeated as captain having played five, won five. This match against Belgium though will be the his most crucial tie to date as the winners will be promoted to world group play offs. Talking about the tie Smith said,

It will be a real step-up. But if the team can put on some fine performances as they did against Slovakia, then we have a real chance of qualifying for the World Group play-offs.

Tickets are priced at £28 for adults on the Friday and Sunday and just £14 for Saturday’s action. Every child goes free with a full paying adult; otherwise child’s tickets are priced at £14 for the Friday and Sunday and only £7 to catch the doubles match on the Saturday.
