13 time Grammy award-nominated Dave Matthews Band have announced that they will be performing in Glasgow’s SECC in March, 2010.
The multi-award winning Dave Matthews Band have sold over 35 million records since their debut, Under the Table and Dreaming. The band’s newest album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King debuted at number one on Billboard 200, giving the band their fifth consecutive number one debut.
Although the untimely death of LeRoi Moore means that the original band is not entirely intact, his spot has been taken by Grammy Award-winner Jeff Colvin. Jeff is the only member who is not a founder; the others in the band are bassist Stefan Lessard, violinist Boyd Tinsley, drummer Carter Beauford, and of course the one and only Dave Matthews, guitarist. With band members who each have roots in differing genres, including jazz, classical music, soul music, and Afrobeat, the combination of each member has created a sound which has earned them fans from a variety of quarters.
Their live shows are legendary and fans can expect a unique experience as the band provides improvisational renditions of their songs accompanied by video and elaborately choreographed lighting.
