20th June 2012
Location: SECC, Glasgow
American pop-punk band, Blink 182, are coming to Glasgow’s SECC for one night only in June 2012!
Recognised as a key pioneer of contemporary pop punk music, Blink 182 formed in 1992 in San Diego, California. After releasing debut album Cheshire Cat (1994), the band achieved relative success with Dude Ranch (1997), now having sold over a million copies.
However, the trio achieved even greater success with the multi-platinum selling Enema of the State (1999) which featured the highly successful singles “What’s My Age Again?”, “Adam’s Song” and the superb anthem of my youth “All the Small Things”.
After the release of their next two popular albums; Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001) and Blink-182 (2003), guitarist Tom DeLonge left the group in 2005 when Blink 182 essentially disbanded. Although they formed two separate bands, these were both less successful than Blink 182, and after some tragic events they finally reunited in 2009.
Since then, all three band members have been writing together, and a new album is in the works, possibly due to be released in late 2011…
They toured the US in the summer of 2010, and are bringing their (slightly delayed) tour to the UK in summer 2012, with just one night planned in Glasgow.
